Merry Christmas from the Painters and Shutterfly!

So this Christmas Shutterfly is doing a promotion which is actually quite genius in my opinion. They are offering 50 free Christmas cards to bloggers who write a promotion of their holiday collection. It's genius because I get 50 free holiday cards, and they get cheap advertising. And presumably, you'd be more likely to buy from them after reading my blog then you would be from seeing a banner on the side of your web page. I know I would.

So I had a delightful morning browsing their holiday collection and I was really quite impressed! They have TONS of cards to choose from too. I spent some time pondering whether I like the cards with multiple pictures or the ones with single pictures, and I decided that I like them both! But for my own Christmas cards I think we'll go with just one picture. And I like the cards best that feature the picture with a minimal design as opposed to the ones that feature the design more prominently. And did you know that they have certain cards you can pick where 10% of the proceeds will be donated to various charities? They do "Livestrong," "American Lung Association," and "Heifer International." Cool huh?

As you can see, my favorites are always the very simple ones. I like the snowflake design on this one. And it's very conducive to a family photo, whereas others look more like a single photo of a child. Since we're doing a family photo, I tended to be more attracted to the family looking ones. And here's one more super cool thing Shutterfly does that I didn't know before this morning. Calendars! I love that you can not only personalize your pictures into the calendar but also add pictures onto certain dates and your own special family dates like birthdays or your anniversary. In fact I like it so much I'm tempted to make one for my family! :) Here's the link to the calendar page. By the way, they also do desk calendars, not just wall calendars, for the friends and family in your life who sit in an office.
