I haven't written on my blog for awhile because I have nothing to say. The only thing on my mind is baby and labor and I've already said how I feel about that. I don't want my blog to be THAT boring...
So here's a short update. Nothing is happening. I'm still very pregnant. The baby has dropped and I'm starting to feel some serious pressure in my pelvic area. No contractions, Braxton-Hicks or otherwise. So I'll just keep waiting and waiting... :)
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers for me!

Spring!
You know... like Harmony, I'm SOOOO looking forward to moving to California where there's a nicer climate. But there's really nothing like the coming of Spring after the long LONG winter. There is a certain skip in everyone's step and everyone longs to go outside. It's delightful!
full-term
As of Friday my baby will be officially "medically" full-term. The due date still isn't for 3 weeks but starting Friday she will not be considered premature anymore. I'm feeling great! We have our hospital bags all packed and a host of wonderful baby things all ready for her. Her car seat is installed in the car and her co-sleeper/crib is all set up in our room.
I really do feel great! The baby has dropped a little lower into my pelvis so I feel like I can take more than 3 steps without puffing and I can eat a reasonably sized meal without feeling stuffed. And my heartburn is lessened. Of course I have to pee about 100 times a day and just as many times in the middle of the night but that's better than heartburn... trust me! And I waddle like a duck... it looks ridiculous!
I'm still, amazingly, sleeping well at night. Aside from my many zombie-like trips to the bathroom I'm not tossing and turning at night and I've started to train myself to sleep on my side now so I don't wake up on my back anymore. In fact, Jimmy complains that I've started snoring and it keeps him awake... poor Jimmy!
I've been training the new person at work for almost two weeks now so I feel like the responsibility of the job is now on the shoulders of the new person. Tomorrow will be my last full-time day at work. The next couple of weeks I will be coming in only part-time to make sure the new lady gets all her questions answered. So my level of work-related stress has dropped dramatically.
I feel happy and comfortable and perfectly content with my life. My favorite thing to do is sit on my couch with my shirt pulled up so I can watch my tummy moving around. I could not ask for a more blessed life.
Thank you God for my blessed life!

baby thoughts
I'm starting to get anxious for the baby to come. I've been doing nothing but get bigger for months now and as we get closer I'm feeling more and more ready for her to come. Don't get me wrong, I'm not so uncomfortable that I just HATE being pregnant. Being pregnant has it drawbacks but I'm not anxious because of that, I'm anxious because I'm excited about being a mommy! Up until now I've been waiting because I knew it was better for the baby to stay in there and get all grown until she was ready. But technically starting this Friday she is considered "full term." She's all "baked" she's ready to come out now and is spending her time in there getting fatter. :) I know that nature has her own system of deciding when she's ready, but I'm starting to look for signs. Every day I examine my profile in the mirror... does the bump look lower? Has she dropped a little? When I get a burst of energy to do the dishes to fold the laundry I wonder... am I nesting? I am anxious to see signs that this long wait is coming to an end and a new life for me and for her is beginning!

cherish
It is, I believe, every woman's deepest desire to be cherished. To be treated as if she is a precious treasure, to be protected, defended, and loved above all. Every woman wants to know that who she is inside and out is completely captivating and completely beautiful as a whole person. I hate to say this, but I also believe that most women want this desire to be met in a man. It is a husband's job to cherish and protect and love. It is his job to convey to his wife that she is captivating to him above all others. Of course, God is the ultimate "man" in this scenario. He is fully captivated by me and he created me in all my beauty (inside and out) and I believe that he treasures me. But I also want this from my husband. NO human husband can love and cherish as perfectly as God, yet we desire it nevertheless. When a woman close to me is not being treated this way by her husband it hurts me. Someone near to my heart has been mistreated and hurt. She has been trampled on and manipulated and sexually betrayed (more than once apparently). But she is afraid to leave and be alone. She can only feel this way because she does not know what it is like to be cherished. Better to be loved and protected and treasured by God alone and no man than to be continually mistreated and cheated on by some scumbag of a man. And so the cycle of abuse continues and she suffers and her children suffer and her parents suffer and her family weeps for her. And all we can do is pray...

midnight frustrations
Last night in the middle of the night during one of my many trips to the bathroom, in my half-asleep stupor, in the dark, I knocked over a nearly-full glass of water that was sitting on the nightstand next to the bed directly onto the mattress. It soaked the mattress and the sheets and the duvet and my pillow. I made a loud exclamation of frustration and anger (at myself) as I tried to think of a solution. Jimmy heard me, asked what had happened, then without a word grabbed his pillow and went out to the couch to sleep, letting me have his side of the bed.
I love my husband…
